Mark began pastoral ministry in 1977.
Before they met, his wife Debbie had already served four years in ministry to college students, including seven months as a missionary to Israel. Since their first church start-up, she has been a partner in all their ministry endeavors.
Including Winding Creek, Mark has helped establish four churches, serving each as founding pastor.
In his role with Winding Creek, Mark’s passion is to help build a church community that helps renew people through genuine spiritual life—worship that’s in both spirit and truth.
Mark’s ministry philosophy is that by keeping the news of Jesus Christ at the center, we can begin to understand the gospel truths so that more and more they move our mind, heart, and actions.
A community committed to doing that together cannot help but experience ongoing transformation, as they learn more and more to live in the light of Jesus’ power and presence.
The ultimate outcome of the Gospel Age is that Christ’s kingdom will gradually fill the earth to renew individuals, families, communities, cities, nations and eventually all of creation.
On a personal level, Mark enjoys bicycling, Nationals baseball, guitar and songwriting; but most importantly, being the husband of Debbie, the father of four adult children and grandfather of three.
